We don’t need a disable person to be our president.( sorry Ibra )

It’s important for all Maldivians to look in to the facts. Our economy is in a big financial crisis. World bank, IMF & other international organizations are calling Maldivian government to stop over spending & to implement sound monetary policies.

If we are going to elect a disable person as our next president we will have to face more problems during the days ahead. These will include an increase in the costs of presidential place, president’s vessels, vehicles & president office.  All these places & facilities will need huge amount of modification so that a disable person can use the facilities. All these means another burden on our economy.

Another big issue can be on international travel & international representation of Maldives on foreign seminars & event. If ibra is elected he would not be able to get in to an airplance also without the assistance of someone. He might not be able to give a speech on foreign seminars because he can’t stand on his feet.

Most of know ibra is good in parliament. He can stay in parliament again as the opposition. This will be better for all Maldivians. I am ok with ibra in parliament. We don’t need a disable person as our president at this critical stage

We need Ibra at any cost. You have written all crap. Have you finished 7th grade at school? If so I believe you would vote for Ibra.

Ibra is one of the best orator in this country. Based on your English I could say that you do not have your own ability to justify who could give a speech and who couldn't. do more research and tell us who could give a speech.

It's so sad that you are a mentally disabled person who could not see what goes around you.

My vote is for Ibra. My wife vote is for Ibra. Our three childrens vote is for Ibra. Our grand parents vote is for Ibra. All these votes for Ibra to be the presdent of this country.

You all can say whatever you want to me. this is freedom of speech.

I will say the truth. I will exercise my rights. I will reveal the truth. we cant afford such a waste at this stage.

Maybe ibra can consider when our economy is better. Ibra also must think in the best interest of all the maldivians, not as a power hungry man..

"Ever so often, we use our rational faculties to justify our irrational, ill-informed or emotional behaviour. The old adage that humans are rational beings often translates to this."

He is accepted in the international community (E.U, the Commonwealth, Saarc, UNDP): He is well liked and respected and has gained the trust of the international community.

i hv to agree with the facts you have presented although the so-called educated nature of ibra who is commenting here under anonymous may think that it is too uneducated for people to actually think out loud what you have written.

on the other hand think of the brighter side, it would be better than having a reef fish as the president.

ibra likes people who has got atleast C in English from Mandhu Tuition class.

he has 15 to 20 supporters paid by his brother's resort money. his brothers share few resorts with maumoon's in-laws. these 15 are paid to comment online, write blogs and goto DHIFM to question polls.

We all have diabilities. some physical and some mental/psyhcological. but the problem is those with mental disabilities dont see it and keep calling those with physical disabilities that they are disabled.

I'm not surprised. In most countries its by law to have all public buildings, roads, elevators and, services all- accessible to everyone including those with physical disabilities. we cant take their right to equal access and facilities/ services just because they seem to be physically disabled.

If it is another country their poeple will be proudly talking about the fact that they have a made a difference and the physically disable person was able to come this far and are even more active, and productive than those so called normal people. but this is maldives.

we dont have that culture, policy, or anything- hence we have become an insensetive, ruthless human robots.

if you have time, go search and read about this person who is considered to be world's greates physist.

STEPHEN HAWKING

if it is maldives he will be thrown out in not time becasue he is useless and an additional cost. right?

Your Mentally Disable.....

your concerns are unjustified. lets get some current facts straight.

1. Ibra even today travels by air, climbs the stairs by himself too.

2. He stands in parliament and at all meetings to deliver his speeches. He has enabled himself that much.

3. He currently moves around Male' as would most other people. He has visited the palace, the presidents office and other government agencies without requiring any disability assistance.

I may not vote for Ibra this election, but I am grateful for what he has helped bring about in this country. His disability, IS definitely one of his strengths.

I don't see Ibra himself, for his own benefit, bringing about an increased amount of public spending to improve the quality of life for the disabled Maldivians. But, he would indeed be one who is more acutely aware of what disability is about and the kind of discrimination it draws from those who call themslves fully able.

i go agree with some of the points. but i feel some cant take the freedom of speech & expression.

i will follow the democracy. i dont want to argue anymore. i will take my stand & you all can take your stand.

thanks

"I will follow the democracy" yo!! hahaha

another blog eh bitch

Proof of the level you would stoop down to ensure that daddy gets Theeumuge this time

"i will speak the truth" yo hahaha

Oh yea having Ibra as president will incur incalculable expenses on the State- after all he is paralyzed from his neck down dho!

If a man such as Ibra becomes president it will forever remain as a testament to the indestructibility of the human spirit and our unshakable resolve as a nation; As a people who are not easily deterred from realizing our just potential by mere physical handicaps.

A man's character is not judged by his physique OR HIS WEALTH (like your daddy), but by the strength of his resolve and his purity of his heart

You really think people will for your kitchen logic and ibra's supporters will abandon him and go and vote Gabu Gasim???

What a sad sad sad female you are...

siyaasee fathifuh. I found some of your concerns amusing until i found this and realized that your fundamental beliefs are so corrupt. I advice you to think over what you have written and if you come back with your belief changed, I would welcome you with open arms. The best of us are who realize that they make mistakes and correct them.

And by the way, all the ideas coming against the view you presented are freedom of expression too. Not everyone has to agree with what you say..

What is physical disability compared with mental, ethical or moral disability? With the choices we have at the moment, I will take disability anyday! Saabahey Ibra! My vote is yours.

OMG!!How naive are you?. Did you know that Franklin D. Roosevelt the 32nd President of USA was paralyzed waist down. Yet he fulfilled his responsibilities without a hitch. He is know as the 3rd greatest president in American history right after Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Disability is not an issue its the ideology and leadership traits that counts. Cheers and Good day.

disturbing post, in the sense that it makes me wonder how much the current government has robbed our youth of proper moral values, has made our youth stoop so low as to see only the superficial.
